Our Story
Fifty million years ago, the Himalayan mountains of Pakistan were formed. The granite we select for your memorial comes from those same mountains. Incredibly hard, dense, and built to endure.
Born in the Mountains
The Himalayan mountains of Pakistan produce some of the exceptionally hard and dense granite. Formed over fifty million years, it holds a polish well and has strong natural resistance to weathering. Our blacks are comparable to industry-standard Absolute Black and Jet Black granite, and our grays rival Georgia Gray and Tropical Gray in tone and durability.
We grew up in this region, around families who have quarried granite for generations. We understood that this ancient stone, already millions of years old, was perfectly suited to carry a name into the future.
We select directly from quarries our family has worked with for generations. Every slab is cut to order, inspected at the source, and shipped to our workshop in the US.
Finished by Hand
At our workshop, each memorial is mirror-polished, and carefully engraved for a deep, lasting inscription. Every stone is inspected before it ships.
We do not operate like a traditional monument dealer. There is no showroom markup, no commissioned salesperson, and no subcontracting. When you order from SilkStone, you work directly with the team who will engrave the names that matter most.

We started SilkStone Memorials to change that. By sourcing directly from the quarries we grew up beside and finishing each 28x16x3in flat granite marker at our own workshop, we removed every unnecessary cost from the supply chain. The savings go directly to the families we serve.
Every flat grave marker includes free custom engraving, nationwide UPS Ground shipping, and insured delivery. We send you a digital proof before any engraving begins, so you can see exactly what the finished flat marker will look like. If anything is not right, we fix it.
