Our Stone
Granite Born in the Himalayas of Pakistan
Formed over 50 million years in the Himalayan mountains of Pakistan. Among the hardest natural stones on earth. Each slab carries millions of years of geological history.
Ancient Stone
50 Million Years in the Making
The granite we use for SilkStone memorials was formed deep within the earth over 50 million years ago, during the same tectonic forces that created the Himalayan mountain range. This is the same region where Himalayan pink salt originates, near some of the tallest peaks on the planet.
Himalayan granite is known for its exceptional density and natural resistance to weathering. The mineral composition holds a mirror polish for longer and resists staining, moss, and erosion from rain, snow, and freeze-thaw cycles.
Each slab is cut to order from quarries in the Himalayan mountains of Pakistan. Before it leaves the quarry, every piece is inspected for density, color consistency, and structural integrity. Slabs that do not meet our standards are rejected.
The finished 28x16x3in flat granite marker you receive is a piece of stone that has been forming since before humans existed. There are few materials on earth more fitting to carry a name into the future.
Our Roots
Quarries Built on Trust
The quarries we source from are not random suppliers found through a trade directory. These are quarries our family have worked with for generations. We grew up in this region, around the people who extract and shape this stone.
These are not faceless supply chains. They are long-standing relationships built on trust, consistent quality, and mutual respect. When we say we know where your granite comes from, we mean it personally.

Direct Savings
Higher Quality, Lower Cost
Pakistani granite carries lower import tariffs compared to granite from many other origins. Combined with our direct quarry relationships, this means we can offer a premium Himalayan granite memorial at a price that undercuts local dealers by a wide margin.
Local dealers typically charge $2,000+ for a comparable 28x16x3in flat granite marker. On top of that, they charge $15-18 per letter for engraving beyond the name and date.
SilkStone passes all savings directly to families. No showroom lease. No commissioned salesperson. No wholesaler markups. Our 28x16x3in flat granite markers start at $899 with free custom engraving included.
That is not a compromise on quality. It is what happens when you remove every unnecessary cost from the supply chain and sell directly to the families you serve.

Our Collection
Three Himalayan Granites
Every stone is quarried in the Himalayan mountains of Pakistan, cut to 28x16x3in, mirror-polished, and carefully engraved at our workshop. Free custom engraving included on every memorial.
K2 Black
Most PopularAlso known as: Absolute Black, Jet Black, Premium Black, Nero Assoluto
A solid, deep black granite with a flawless mirror polish. K2 Black is comparable to what the industry calls Absolute Black, Jet Black, or Nero Assoluto granite. The density of this Himalayan stone means it holds its polish longer and resists weathering over time.
This is our most popular stone. The pure black surface creates a striking contrast with sandblasted engraving, making names and dates highly legible from a distance.
Himalayan Gray
Most AffordableAlso known as: Georgia Gray, Tropical Gray, Silver Gray, Pewter Gray
A warm, natural gray granite with subtle veining and mineral flecks. Himalayan Gray is comparable to industry-standard Georgia Gray, Tropical Gray, or Silver Gray granite. It carries a soft, dignified appearance that suits any cemetery.
This is our most affordable stone, starting at just $899 with free engraving included. The warm gray tones age gracefully and complement both traditional and modern memorial designs.
Midnight Gold
ExclusiveAlso known as: Exclusive to SilkStone
A rare Himalayan granite with deep black and gray tones interlaced with natural gold mineral veining. Midnight Gold is not comparable to any industry-standard stone because it is exclusive to SilkStone. This granite has never before been available in the US memorial market.
Each slab is unique. The gold veining is a natural mineral formation, not applied or painted. This is for families who want a memorial that stands apart from everything else in the cemetery.
Quarry to Your Door
Quality Through Control
The quality of a granite memorial depends on more than just the raw stone. It depends on who selects it, who cuts it, who polishes it, and who engraves it. At SilkStone, the answer to all four is us.
We hand-select every slab at the quarry. We cut and polish each 28x16x3in flat marker at our workshop. We engrave every inscription using sandblasting with stencils for a deep, lasting finish. And we inspect the completed memorial before it ships.
Local dealers often subcontract engraving to third parties and source stone through multiple intermediaries. That means less visibility into the final product and more opportunities for inconsistency. We have removed every one of those gaps.

The result is consistent, verifiable quality at every stage. You receive a digital proof before engraving begins and photographs of the finished memorial before it ships. Nothing leaves our hands until you approve it.
